Prof. P. K. Bhattacharya takes charge as Director of RGIPT
Prof. P. K. Bhattacharya has taken over the charge as the Director of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology on January 16, 2016 from Prof. J. P. Gupta. Prior to this, Prof. Bhattacharya was the Emeritus Fellow in Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Kanpur.
He has also been the Head of Department of Chemical Engineering and Chairman of IIT JEE-2010 at IIT Kanpur. He did his Ph.D. from IIT Bombay. Prof. Bhattacharya is having close to four decades of teaching, research and administrative experience at various levels and known for his deep involvement in research and development works.
He also won several awards, such as Hiyoshi Think of Ecology Award (2009), Herdillia Award (1998), Chemical Engineering R&D Award (1996), Chemical Engineering R&D Award (1996) for his contribution to academic world and received patent on the ‘Process for the Recovery of Inorganic Compounds from Kraft Liquor’.
