Primary long term research interests

  • Inter-phase mass transfer through non-dispersive contact within hollow fiber membrane contactor module for environmentally sustainable industrial applications
  • Development of environmentally sustainable energy efficient processes using power ultrasound
  • Clean energy generation through efficient waste reduction

Short term research focus

  • Membrane based liquid-liquid extraction (LLE), forward osmosis (FO), membrane distillation (MD) for water recovery and reuse (sources: complex industrial wastewaters such as produced water from oil and gas industry, drilling wastewaters, urban landfill wastewaters, food, and beverages).
  • Ultrasonically enhanced chemical processes for applications in anaerobic membrane bioreactors employing hollow fiber modules
  • Novel methods for extraction of rare earth elements from mineral deposits
