RGIPT students’ cultural programme ‘KALTARANG 2014’

‘KALTARANG' is the annual cultural festival of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), RaeBareli, and is organised by its students. This year, the event was held from 21st to 23rd February. Students from different institutions, such as National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Feroze Gandhi Institute Engineering & Technology (FGIET), Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI), Kanpur, and the host team took part in this event. The 3-day programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guests Shri Pankaj Mathur (Director - Commercial, Green Gas Ltd.) and Shri K. Alagesan (Unit Head, ITI Ltd.), Dr. J. P. Gupta (Director - RGIPT), Major Gen. (Retd.) A.K. Chaturvedi, Shri Prabhakar Mishra (Chief Manager - GGL), Shri S.K. Singh (Chief Manager - GGL) and Shri Ashutosh Lohumi (Manager - HR, GGL).

This 3-day programme was made more memorable and participatory with cultural events like Group Song, Debate, Extempore, Quiz, Group Discussion, Solo Song, Solo Dance, T-Shirt Painting, Mask Making, Face Painting, Origami, Nukkad Naatak, Ad-Mad, Antakashari, Baraat Dance, Connectivity, Kavyanjali, Mimicry, Group Dance, Fashion Show, Rangoli, Pot Painting, Nail Art, Tattoo Making. Kavi Sammelan and the performances by Army Band and The Local Train band added color to the festival. Some sports events, such as Volley Ball, Basket Ball and Kabaddi, were also organized to give a different flavor to the event. These programmes witnessed creative skills and innovative ideas of students. The team from FGIET emerged as the winner with 11 titles whereas organizing team stood at 2nd place with 7 titles.
