Message from the Director

Congratulations for securing your admission at RGIPT and being among the chosen few. Over the last several years, the Institution has gradually emerged as one of the preferred destinations for candidates desirous of pursuing UG and PG programmes in domain areas of Petroleum and Energy. RGIPT is the flagship Institution of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India. The Institution is able to provide a competitive, rigorous and vibrant environment for its students to learn, culture and transform oneself to a capable and socially responsible individual ready to handle the challenges of the society and efficiently lay their hands towards nation building. The Institution has a unique project based course curriculum that inculcates the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among the students. The Institution also provides an equally effective environment for students to excel in various co and extra-curricular activities such as sports and cultural activities. The basic ethos behind the pedagogy at the Institution is not only create successful engineers, Managers and researchers but also to produce future leaders those will become the flag bearers of the modern India in the future.

RGIPT has imparted maximum emphasis to provide a safe and comfortable environment to all the women students in the campus. The woman cell of the Institution is active since 2016 and regularly conduct seminars and workshops to promote gender sensitivity in the Institution and nearby organizations.

The success rate of our past women students is fairly high with almost all of them are either placed as engineers or managers in renowned domain specific industries or pursuing higher studies in India and abroad. Though the number of women students are relatively less compared to that of the male students due to the domain specific nature of the programmes, we anticipate the trend to change substantially with the introduction of super-numerary seats for the women and main stream UG and PG programmes in the computer science and Electronics engineering disciplines from the 2020-21 academic year onwards. Finally, I welcome you all and assure you that RGIPT is the preferred venue if you foster the dream of becoming engineer, manager or entrepreneur in the domain area.

Wishing you all the best for a successful future!

Prof. A.S.K. Sinha
