The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) has been established through an Act of Parliament in 2008 under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. It has been accorded the eminence of being an “Institution of National Importance”. RGIPT is co-promoted as an energy domain specific institute by leading Oil PSUs in association with the Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB). The main campus of the Institute is situated at Jais, Amethi, UP Besides this, Institute is having two other campuses, namely- RGIPT Sivasagar Campus and RGIPT Bengaluru Campus.

The Institute invites applications from highly motivated & eligible candidates (Indian Nationals) for appointment to the following TEMPORARY/ CONTRACT positions of nonteaching staff:

Note: Higher pay may be considered in case the selection committee finds an exceptionally qualified or highly experienced aspirant, solely at the discretion of the selection committee.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA


1. Post: Purchase Officer (On Contract)

Duration: Initially for one year which may further be extended for another year depending on performance.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 65 years as on the closing date of the application.

Essential Qualification:

Graduate in any discipline from a recognised University/Institution.

Desirable:

  • Minimum 20 years of experience in handling purchase/procurement/stores/accounts in an Institution of National Importance/ Government Department/Autonomous Body/PSU/Scientific Research Organization.
  • Knowledge of Government e-Procurement procedures.
  • Proficiency in GeM (Government e-Marketplace) platform.
  • Familiarity with GFR 2017 and related procurement rules.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Procurement of goods and services as per government guidelines.
  • Preparation and processing of purchase orders.
  • Vendor development and evaluation.
  • Coordination with stores and accounts departments.
  • Maintenance of purchase records and documentation.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the competent authority.

2. Post: Public Relations Officer (On Contract)

Duration: Initially for one year which may further be extended for another year depending on performance.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 60 years as on the closing date of application.

Essential Qualification:

Master’s degree in Journalism & Mass Communication / Public Relations, or its equivalent, with at least 60% marks and a minimum of five (05) years' relevant experience after a qualifying degree.

OR

Master’s degree in English AND Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication/Public Relations, with at least 60% marks in both, from a recognised University/Institute, and at least five (05) years of relevant experience after a qualifying degree.

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in office applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written), with strong writing and editing skills.
  • Experience in preparing and designing digital content and posters using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), or other similar graphic design and presentation tools.
  • Proven ability to initiate and manage content on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
  • Experience in liaising effectively with local and national media.
  • Prior experience in government institutions or universities, especially in managing print/electronic media, branding, newsletters, and annual reports.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Management: Manage and update official social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn), ensuring prompt, accurate, and engaging content is shared regularly.
  • Digital Content & Poster Creation: Design and create digital content, posters, and visual material using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Vista Create, Piktochart, etc., for both online and offline communication.
  • Event Management: Organize and coordinate institutional events, workshops, and press meets; handle all aspects of public communication before, during, and after events.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain active communication with stakeholders including students, faculty, staff, alumni, industry partners, and government agencies.
  • Brand Building: Promote and safeguard RGIPT’s brand through strategic outreach campaigns, publications, and public initiatives.
  • Monitor Media Coverage: Track and analyze media coverage of the institute; prepare reports on media reach, sentiment, and impact.
  • Crisis Communication: Serve as a spokesperson and lead communication efforts during crises or emergencies, ensuring accurate and timely information dissemination.
  • Content Coordination: Work with designers, photographers, internal faculty/students, and external agencies to produce and coordinate high-quality content for various channels.
  • Internal Communications: Facilitate effective communication within RGIPT through newsletters, announcements, and internal bulletins.

3. Post: Intellectual Property Officer (On Contract)

Duration: Initially for one year which may further be extended for another year depending on performance.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 65 years as on the closing date of the application.

Essential Qualification:

  1. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Law, Engineering, or Sciences, Management (preferably with IP specialization).
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in patent searching, drafting, or prosecution.

Desirable:

  • In-depth knowledge of Indian and international IP laws (patents, copyrights, designs).
  • Proficiency in legal drafting and communication with patent offices.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with technical research outputs.
  • Certification as a Patent Agent (Indian Patent Office) is a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive patent searches to evaluate prior art and novelty.
  • Delivering opinions on patentability for research innovations.
  • Drafting and filing Indian patent applications adhering to IP regulations.
  • Preparing responses to First Examination Reports (FER) issued by the patent office.
  • Managing patent prosecution, resolving objections, and liaising with government offices.
  • Handling copyright filings for institutional research and creative works.
  • Overseeing copyright prosecution to ensure legal protection.
  • Filing design applications for industrial designs developed at RGIPT.
  • Managing design prosecution to secure registrations.
  • Supporting International patent filings in collaboration with international IP frameworks.
  • Facilitating PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) filings for global patent protection.
  • Assisting with international design filings for global design protection.
  • Drafting IP-related agreements, including licensing and collaboration contracts.
  • Providing legal opinions on agreements to align with institutional goals.
  • Any other duties assigned by the competent authority related to teaching and research.

  4. Type of Engagement: These positions are purely temporary, and the job incumbent shall be engaged on a contract basis. The job incumbent shall not be eligible to claim any kind of permanent appointment against these posts in the Institute.
  5. Mode of Selection:
    1. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test/interview/presentation. The final selection will be based on merit, performance in the interview and relevant experience.
    2. Mere possession of minimum qualifications does not entitle a candidate to be called for an interview. The institute may restrict the number of such candidates to a reasonable limit based on qualifications and experience, which may be higher than the essential qualifications prescribed herein.
  6. Qualifications/ Experiences / Age, etc., as on the last date of submission of applications will only be taken into consideration.
  7. Leave: 10 Casual Leaves on a pro-rata basis will be admissible in a calendar year.
  8. In case any falsification is found with respect to any of the qualifications/experience, the engagement of the job incumbent will be ended with immediate effect.
  9. Police verification and Background check of the job incumbents will be conducted.
  10. The Institute will not pay any TA/DA to the aspirant for appearing in the written test/interview/presentation for any posts.
