Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Jais invites applications from Indian nationals for Visiting Assistant professor/ Postdoctoral Fellow in the department of Petroleum Engineering and Geoengineering, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Sciences and Humanities, Management Studies, Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology having the required qualifications and experience.
The place of posting shall be the RGIPT, Jais Campus, Amethi – 229304, Uttar Pradesh.
About RGIPT, Jais
The Government of India, through the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG), has set up Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Jais, Uttar Pradesh on the lines of IITs under the Act of Parliament 54/2007 with an empowerment to award degrees and conduct front-end research. Institute has been granted status of “An Institution of National Importance” by the Parliament. The Institute is promoted by six leading Oil PSUs (ONGC, IOCL, OIL, GAIL, BPCL and HPCL) in India, in association with Oil Industrial Development Board (OIDB) and positioned as a "World Class" Institution. The Institute consistently features in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Education, Government of India. Institute offers B Tech, M Tech, MBA and PhD in several disciplines from main campus at Jais.
Over the years RGIPT has expanded its presence in multiple states. RGIPT opened a centre named “Energy Institute Bengaluru (EIB)” in Karnataka. EIB offers M.Tech and PhD in many disciplines.
Considering the need for quality education in North-east region, RGIPT opened Assam Energy Institute (A centre of RGIPT) at Sivasagar, Assam. The centre offers diploma engineering and Integrated Dual Degree programs in multiple branches.

The appointment will be purely on temporary basis as per the Institute norms. |
| Eligibility |
PhD with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc) at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with very good academic record in all preceding degrees.
Candidates having PhD with less than one year of post experience may apply for Post Doctoral Fellow.
Candidates applying for an engineering discipline must preferably have a B. Tech degree in the relevant discipline.
Age Limit: Applicants for visiting assistant professor and Post Doctoral Fellow should be less than 32 years and 30 years respectively.

| Duration |
Initially for one year and extendable up to one more year. Performance is to be reviewed annually for the continuation of engagement. |
| Emoluments |
Consolidated emolument of up to Rs. 1,50,000/- per month considering the experience and status of the person so appointed.Accommodation in the residential Apartment/ other housing as per availability on payment basis. |
| Duties and Responsibilities |
A Visiting Assistant professor/ Post Doctoral fellow will be required to teach assigned courses, prepare new courses, develop laboratories, conduct research, and take seminars or participate in such other manner as may be deemed appropriate in teaching or research or industry-institute interaction work of the Institute. In addition, he/she may be assigned any administrative duties/responsibilities in the interest of the Institute as may be deemed appropriate by the Competent Authority. |

- The institute reserves the right not to fill any of the posts advertised.
- The mere possession of minimum qualifications does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. The institute may restrict the number of such candidates to a reasonable limit based on qualifications and experience, which may be higher than the essential qualifications prescribed here-in above.
