Dr Shivanjali Sharma is a faculty member of the department of Petroleum Engineering and Geoengineering at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Jais, Amethi. Currently, she is an Associate Professor. Dr Sharma holds a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dhanbad.
Across a short span of time, Dr Sharma cemented her name across the industry and academia alike by spearheading 6+ sponsored research projects by OIL, ONGC, HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited, DST-SERB (now ANRF), RGIPT, and establishing collaborations with multiple reputed organisations around the world. She holds 2 patents and has co-authored over 60+ articles in journals and conferences of international repute. She has also coauthored a book titled “Unconventional Resources in India: The Way Ahead”, published in the series Springer Briefs in Petroleum Geoscience and Engineering.
Dr Sharma is committed to mentoring the next generation of engineers, having supervised several B Tech, M Tech, and PhD students. She has developed a postgraduate-level research lab on Drilling Fluids and Cement Design and an undergraduate laboratory on Reservoir Engineering in the department. Her Research Interests lie in Carbon Utilization, Additives for Oilfield Applications, Drilling Fluid and cement Design and Characterization, Enhanced Oil Recovery, Flow Assurance, and the Rheology of Polymers.
